Dalmatia Dubrovnik

The second most beautiful place in the world (if you include the place where you were born) is undoubtedly Dubrovnik. If you were born in Dubrovnik, you are doubly fortunate, for Dubrovnik is then to you twice the most beautiful town in the world. It is not only about the beauty, which is timeless, or about the Impact on the observer's eye, it is also about a beauty that is breathtaking, a beauty that encourages expression of the soul, needing no words or explanation.#$#  Because Dubrovnik stands before you as a town-dictionary of all the key concepts, as a town-translator which translates itself, revealing the secrets of your very being.

The more you discover it the more you will discover yourself. It is a distinctive part ol the world's puzzle, and a world that would be incomplete without it. It is wrapped in enigmatic fairytale magic that remains even when all else is gone.

Konavle and Dubrovnik County
Two of Croatia's most southerly tourist sub-regions lie in unspoiled valleys surrounded by inland mountains and the high cliffs of Konavle, along with the Dubrovnik county beaches.

Varied and placid landscapes have preserved the unity between natural splendors and the cultured way of life in villages down the ages. The autochthonous stone architecture, monuments and the sacral ambience, along with a rich ethno tradition, which is most visible in the stunning forms of the folk costumes worn by the women ot this region are truly memorable.

Use your vacation in Konavle and Dubrovnik County to enjoy the summer events in Cavtat, including the local harmony singing groups (klapa), fishermen's nights, folklore groups and concerts.

Dubrovnik's coast and the Lower Neretva region
Dubrovnik's coast extends from the source of the River Ombla (Dubrovnik's very own river] in the east, to Bistrina Bay in the north. The River Neretva. from being a wild mountain river finally transforms itself into the most indented delta in Croatia For countless years this symbol of the landscape of the lower Neretva region comprised swampland expanses that were home to an abundance ot fish and wading birds. Today, however, agriculture has taken over and is growing strongly, especially the cultivation of citrus fruits. Habitats of rich flora and fauna are protected in ornithological and other reserves.

Dubrovnik

The town in the southern part of the east Adriatic coast, the seat of the county Dubrovnik and Neretva, and cultural and administrative center. It lies at the foot of Srd (412 meters high hill), in the valley that is in the south-west closed by the elevation Lapad and small ridge with the oldest part of Dubrovnik.

Island Korcula

The island of Korcula was inhabited already in pre-historic times, and the trails of pre-historic life were discovered on many places. The oldest funds are the stone knives from the Neolithic found on the small island of Badija next to the town of Korcula.
The richest and best investigated fund place from the Neolithic is the Vela spila (the big cave) in Vela Luka.
