It lies on the top of the hill (380 m), 8 kilometers from the main road Buje - Buzet, on the location of a prehistoric citadel. The medieval fortification system, narrow streets, small squares; all those are still preserved. The parish church of St. Juraj, with the separate belfry from the 15th century, was reconstructed in the 17th century with the lapidarium and the chapel of St. Rok that has partly preserved wall paintings from the 16th century. The church of St. Mary has valuable wall paintings and the Romanesque chapel of St. Helen still has wall paintings from 1400. In the churches of St. Leonard and St. Silvestar the wall paintings are also preserved.
