The MV ARION was built in 1965 in Croatia and she was completely renovated in the year 2000 to meet the international safety and comfort standards.

WHY "ALONG THE ADRIATIC COAST"?
Through this sea route we would like to make discover the principal cities of the Croatian coast under conditions of comfort which could not be possible to get by land.  Moreover, what could be more natural than accosting to the ports which are at the origin of these ancient maritime cities?
The boat will thus fully play her role of link between the various pearls of the Adriatic while offering a service matching the modern standards of comfort and quality. We would like you to share the spirit of exploration, culture and wellbeing we’ll endeavour to bring aboard the ship.

FROM A TO Z

AIR CONDITIONING: All cabins and public rooms are fully air-conditioned. Cabin air conditioning can be individually controlled.

ANNOUNCEMENT: All announcements will me made both in French and English language.

BEVERAGES: Bar and wine lists are available to assist you in your choice of beverages.  The bar offers a wide range of drinks including mineral water bottles. For all purchases and/or  services on board, you only need to sign the invoice that we advise you to keep with you until the end of cruising in order to be able to audit your account.  At the end of cruising, you will be able to balance your account either by credit card (Visa or Master Card) or in cash (in €). 

CHILDREN: Please note that neither specific amenities nor adequated food are available for children under three on board the ship. You are kindly advised to bring along your own material.

CINEMA: Video films are shown through the ship’s TV system. Films are also shown at times in the main lounge.

COMMUNICATIONS:  No outside communications from the cabins. Satellite communications are expensive and we advise you to make your calls on land or with your mobile.  In case of emergency: satellite phone number + to be confirmed and the fax is + to be confirmed.

DAILY PROGRAM: A program of the events on board is produced daily and delivered to the cabin.

DECK CHAIRS: Deck chairs are available to passengers at no extra charge. Please do not reserve empty deck chairs by placing articles on them.

DEPARTURE: Only for those flying with Rivages du Monde from Paris:  Notification will be mentioning the meeting point at the Airport where our representative will be awaiting you and will be helping you to proceed to the registration formalities.

DIETS: Certain special dietary requirements can be catered for on board if sufficient advance notice is given to the Ship’s administration.

DISABLED PASSENGERS: Regrettably the vessel is not equipped for passengers confined to a wheelchair.

DRESS CODE: Croatia, Montenegro and Albania enjoy of a Mediterranean climate and the temperatures can reach 30° Celsius.  We advise you summer clothing, comfortable and practical. Casual clothing is perfectly acceptable for day time and most of the time. We recommend a more formal dressing for the two formal nights (Jacket and tie for Men and Cocktail Dress for the Ladies).

DRINKING WATER: The tap water in your cabin is chlorinated and safe to drink. Alternatively you may purchase bottled water from the bar at a reasonable price.

EARLY MORNING TEA or COFFEE: complimentary tea & coffee are available in Lido Bar from 6h30 until 7h in the morning. Alternatively by completing the breakfast menu form (within the general cabin documentation) and handing into Reception, early morning tea or coffee can be ordered for cabin service.

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES: The voltage on board is 220V and each cabin is equipped with round two pin electrical sockets, suitable for small appliances only (European format). Reception should be consulted if passengers intend utilizing electrical items other than razors.
For security reasons, it is prohibited to use electric kettles and irons inside the cabins.

EMBARKATION: The guests will be welcomed by our staff that will bring them to the cabin. Passport has to be deposited at the reception for all the duration of the stay. It will be returned at the end of the cruising. A Passenger Identity Card will be then handed over to every passenger.

ENTERTAINMENT: A variety of daytime and evening entertainment is organized onboard. During the day, activities such as arts and crafts, exercise classes, light sporting activities, parlour games and quizzes are arranged for those who wish to participate. A range of floorshows and other events are offered on a nightly basis, as well as music for dancing.

HAIRDRESSING: The Beauty Salon is located mid-ship on Promenade Deck. It can cater for both Ladies & Gents and also provides limited beauty treatment service. An additional charge is required.

INFORMATION DESK: Apart from the Reception desk, Rivages du Monde will have its own information desk.

LAUNDRY: A laundry service is available by contacting your cabin steward and the price list of the services can be found in your cabin information pack. The cost of the services is added to your onboard account. We regret that no dry cleaning services are available onboard.

LECTURING:  They are made at sea and are related to various subjects:  culture, civilization, and history of Croatia, Montenegro and Balkans in general (in French).
Two lectures presenting the different countries of the former Yugoslavia will be also delivered in English.

LIBRARY: Located in the Club Room on Upper Deck, next to the restaurant. The Ship’s library offers a range of books in French and English, which are available during the cruise. A nominal charge is made in case of loss. The Club Room provides also a quite relaxing area and is ideal for game of cards or just meeting friends. Parlour games can be borrowed near the reception.

LIFT: There is a passenger lift situated in the foyer. The Observation Deck and Ocean Deck cannot be accessed by a lift. 

LINEN AND TOWELS: Cabin towels are changed daily and bed linen changed twice weekly. Cabin towels should not be taken to the swimming pool as towels are available on deck. Towels to be taken ashore can be arranged only under a deposit.

LUGGAGE LABELS:  You will get them before leaving in your “Travel bag”. Please ensure all luggages are clearly labelled with your name, address, ship’s name, and departure date and cabin number. It will allow the direct delivery of your luggage in your cabin from the Airport. It is extremely important that your luggage be labelled so that they can be deposited in your cabin.
All luggages are subject to a security inspection. Please keep valuables, travel documents and medication in your hand luggage.

MAIL: The purchase of postcards and payment for postage can be made at the Reception Desk. You may also leave correctly stamped mail for posting. The ship’s Purser will arrange postage of mail at ports with efficient postal services.

MEALS: Meals are taken in one sitting in the Restaurant (Upper Deck). Schedules will be arranged in order to comply with the program of excursions. We ask you to choose a table at the beginning of the cruise and to keep it until the end. The meals taken in the dining room are served on the table. The cooking is traditional, of good quality with some local specialities.  Buffet Breakfast is served from 7.30 am to 9.30 am in the restaurant and also in the Lido area on the Promenade deck. Afternoon tea is normally served at 4.30 pm. Late Night Snacks are available from 11.30 pm and will be brought around to the public rooms by the restaurant waiters.

MEDICAL FACILITIES: The services of qualified medical staff are available from the medical centre, situated on Ocean Deck. A nominal fee is charged for a consultation and for medication prescribed.

OPTIONAL SHORE EXCURSIONS: They must be bought on board and are to be settled only in cash € or by traveller’s cheque. Details of recommended tours are available via our cruise staff. The excursions proposed are those of the program:  they are always escorted and will be presented in English.  Only one and a single presentation will be made the first day and the reservation is to be made on filling out a form.  Caution!  Any ordered excursion will be refundable if not carried out

PASSENGER IDENTITY CARD: These cards are issued by the ship on embarkation. They are used for the gangway when going on or off the ship at ports of call. It can also be used as an onboard charge card and must be shown each time you make an onboard purchase.

PAYMENT:  Euro is the official currency on board. All passengers have a Shipboard Account: all purchases of items and/or extra services on board are signed for by the passengers, and added to their shipboard account upon presentation of the passenger’s card. Final payment is to be settled at the end of the cruise and payment may be made by traveller’s cheques or by Visa or MasterCard credit cards or in cash payment (Euro). We regret that personal cheques cannot be used on board.

POOL: The ship has a sea water pool which is filled depending on sea conditions and port regulations.

SECURITY: Safety instructions are posted on the inside of the cabin door. Please read them carefully. Life jackets are stored in the wardrobe of your cabin.
In accordance with the International Maritime Law for Safety of Life at Sea, a lifeboat drill will be held within the first 24 hours of the cruise. It is compulsory for passengers to attend.

SHOP: The gift shop is located on Promenade Deck. Gifts, souvenirs, postcards, films photographs, stamps and toiletries are available there.
The distribution of duty free alcohol and cigarettes will take place on the last day at sea of the cruise and is subject to availability.
As on all the boats, the shop is a concession and Rivages du Monde is not at all involved in its management.

SMOKING POLICY: As a consideration to all passengers, there are smoking and non-smoking areas on board. The restaurant is a totally non-smoking area as are the passenger’s cabins. Smoking is allowed in Piano Bar, Promenade Lounges and in the Casino.

TENDERS: When the ship is unable to go alongside, disembarkation is made by tender boats.

TV: All cabins are equipped with a satellite TV set, offering a wide choice of channels in several languages. However awailibility of programmes is depending on the local satellite coverage..

VALUABLES: Small personal safes are available in each passenger cabin with instructions for their use. Rivages du Monde cannot be held responsible for any loss of valuables in your cabin or for items deposited in the cabin safes.

VISITORS: For security reasons, visitors are not allowed on board.
